Occipital Neuralgia Treatment for Accident-Related Head Pain in Morrow

Occipital neuralgia treatment focuses on pain that starts near the upper neck or back of the head and may travel across the scalp. The work suits people whose symptoms began after a motor vehicle collision and continue with neck pain, headaches, or related nerve symptoms.

The key decision is whether the pain pattern fits occipital nerve irritation or another injury. We review the collision history, physical findings, prior records, and related conditions before discussing a plan. A nerve block may be considered when the clinical picture supports targeted care.

This page serves patients seeking a focused pain management physician for one accident-related symptom pattern. Our practice does not provide general primary care, urgent care, or workers’ compensation care.

  • Pain behind the head or along the scalp after a motor vehicle collision.
  • Neck pain, whiplash, or muscle tightness that may affect the occipital nerves.
  • A review of prior medical records and related injury findings.
  • A discussion of nerve blocks or other targeted procedures when clinically appropriate.
  • Detailed documentation for treatment and personal injury case records.

When the plan supports an injection, we explain the procedure and complete the selected interventional care.

We record findings and follow-up information so the medical record reflects the course of care.

The staff (Tracy) and the medical folks are very nice. They explain everything to you in plain language before you even get started, and once you see doctor (Dr Scott), the assistant (Areyana) is gentle & sweet. They both will walk you through the entire process verbally, as they go and they make sure you are good before you leave as well. Above & beyond when it comes to bedside manner. Just make sure you don't get lost in the Kroger parking lot, listening to GPS. The clinic is inside Arrowhead across the street, behind Subway.

Questions About Occipital Neuralgia Care

What causes occipital neuralgia symptoms after a car accident for Occipital Neuralgia Treatment?

Nerve compression can cause occipital neuralgia symptoms after a car accident. Neck injury, muscle tension, and spinal arthritis can also irritate the occipital nerves. Premier Injury Specialists reviews the pain pattern, physical findings, and accident history before discussing targeted care. Severe sudden pain, new weakness, or other urgent symptoms need prompt medical attention.

Which doctor treats pain from the occipital nerves?

A pain management physician treats occipital nerve pain with focused evaluation and targeted procedures. Our board-certified physicians in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine review the cause of pain and explain options. Care may include an occipital nerve block when the findings support it. The visit also helps separate nerve pain from other accident-related conditions.

How does a nerve block fit this treatment plan?

An occipital nerve block places medication near the affected nerve to assess and address pain. We first review symptoms and examine the head and neck. The procedure is discussed only when it fits the clinical findings. Patients receive an explanation of the planned care and related documentation through the same practice.

What records should I bring to the first visit for Occipital Neuralgia Treatment?

Medical records, imaging reports, medication details, and accident information help us assess the full injury picture. Bring records from prior visits when they are available. We review them with your symptoms and examination findings. Personal injury attorneys may also coordinate documentation with our practice during treatment.

Can I receive a same-day evaluation in Morrow for Occipital Neuralgia Treatment?

Same-day evaluations are available when available at the Stockbridge clinic. Scheduling depends on appointment availability and the needs of the evaluation. The visit focuses on accident-related pain, including headaches, neck pain, and possible occipital nerve irritation. Our team explains the next step after reviewing the findings.

What changes the cost of an occipital nerve procedure?

The evaluation findings, selected procedure, medical documentation needs, and billing arrangement affect the cost. MedPay or an attorney lien may apply to accident care. We discuss the proposed care during a Free Consultation. No treatment plan should be chosen from a price alone because the procedure must fit the clinical findings.

When is a pain management visit the wrong fit?

General primary care, urgent care, and workers’ compensation care fall outside this practice’s focus. Our service is for injuries from motor vehicle collisions. Patients with accident-related head or neck pain can discuss an evaluation with us. Severe or life-threatening symptoms require emergency medical attention instead of waiting for a routine consultation.
