Why does a muscle twitch keep happening after a car accident?

A recurring muscle twitch can reflect a tight or irritated muscle band after a collision. A pain management physician checks the area, reviews related neck or back symptoms, and looks for signs that another condition needs attention. Seek urgent medical care for severe weakness, new loss of bladder or bowel control, or rapidly worsening symptoms.

Trigger Point Injections in Riverdale for Focused Muscle Care

Trigger point injections address localized muscle pain, tenderness, and tight bands that may follow a motor vehicle collision. This page focuses on the appointment itself, including how we assess the painful area and decide whether an injection belongs in your care plan.

Patients may also have whiplash, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, headaches, or soft-tissue injuries. We first separate muscle-based symptoms from nerve, disc, joint, or brain-related concerns. That distinction helps you understand whether an injection is a reasonable next step.

The decision is not based on a muscle twitch alone. We consider your symptoms, examination findings, prior care, and any imaging that is appropriate for your condition.

  • Identify the painful or tight muscle area.
  • Review crash-related symptoms and prior treatment.
  • Use palpation to guide the injection decision.
  • Explain the injection solution and expected care steps.
  • Record findings for ongoing treatment and personal injury documentation.

Service Overview

Trigger point injections are pain management procedures that place an injection solution into a tender, tight muscle area.

  • They target muscle-based pain, while epidural steroid injections and facet joint injections address different spinal or joint pain sources.
  • Premier Injury Specialists provides this care for Riverdale patients through its Metro Atlanta injury practice.

What Focused Muscle Treatment Can Change

A focused exam helps connect the painful muscle area with the wider crash-related injury.

Palpation gives the care plan a specific target instead of treating every painful area the same way.

The visit gives you a clear explanation of how muscle pain differs from disc or nerve pain.

Treatment records support coordination between pain care, imaging referrals, and personal injury documentation.

Patients who fear needles receive a step-by-step explanation before the procedure begins.

A client scenario this service addresses

A Riverdale patient with a recurring muscle twitch after a collision may need more than a tender-spot check. We review the neck, back, and related nerve symptoms, then decide whether a localized injection fits the full injury picture.

What Patients Get From This Injection Visit

Our team coordinates pain management with diagnostic evaluation, imaging referrals when appropriate, and medical documentation for personal injury claims or MedPay coverage.

Board-certified pain expertise

Our board-certified pain management physicians focus exclusively on evaluating and treating injuries caused by motor vehicle collisions.

Process

Steps in a Trigger Point Injection Appointment

1

Review the crash-related symptoms

We discuss the collision, pain pattern, muscle twitch, prior care, and symptoms affecting your neck, back, or limbs.

2

Use palpation to find the target

Palpation helps locate the tender muscle band and guides the treatment discussion.

3

Check for related conditions

We consider whether nerve, disc, facet, joint, or brain-related symptoms call for another evaluation or referral.

4

Explain the planned injection

We review needle placement, the injection solution, and the reason the procedure fits the documented findings.

5

Record the care plan

We document the examination and plan for continued pain care, referrals, and personal injury or MedPay records.

Questions Patients Ask About Muscle Injection Visits

What happens during a trigger point injection appointment for Trigger Point Injections?

A muscle twitch receives focused review, palpation, and an explanation of needle placement before treatment. Premier Injury Specialists starts with your crash history and symptoms. The exam identifies the tender muscle area and checks for signs of disc or nerve involvement. We then discuss the injection solution and document the plan for continued care.

How does the doctor decide where to place the needle?

Needle placement follows the tender area found during the physical exam. Palpation helps locate a tight muscle band and guides the treatment target. The care plan also considers nearby neck, back, and nerve symptoms. We explain the chosen site before the procedure so you understand what the injection addresses.

For Trigger Point Injections, which records should I bring to the first visit?

Medical records, imaging reports, and collision details help us assess your injury history. Bring documents from prior evaluations, treatment notes, and any imaging you already have. We review those records with your symptoms and examination findings. Imaging referrals remain available when the clinical picture calls for more evaluation.

Why might an injection not fit my symptoms?

A trigger point injection may not fit symptoms caused mainly by a disc, nerve, facet joint, or brain-related condition. The examination helps separate these sources. We discuss other pain management options or referrals when the findings point elsewhere. Severe weakness or new bladder or bowel problems require urgent medical care.

Can I discuss payment after a car accident?

Yes, payment arrangements can include attorney liens and MedPay coverage. The care plan still begins with a medical evaluation and documentation of your injury. Our staff can explain the arrangement tied to your visit. Free consultations are available, and no out-of-pocket payment is typically required at the time of the visit.

When should I seek urgent care for muscle symptoms?

Urgent care is appropriate for severe weakness, new loss of bladder or bowel control, or rapidly worsening symptoms. A localized twitch alone does not show the full cause of pain. We assess crash-related muscle, nerve, disc, and spine symptoms during a consultation. Emergency symptoms should be handled through emergency medical services.
