Intrathecal Pump Therapy for Recovery Planning in Conley

Intrathecal pain pump therapy involves more than placing a pump. The care plan includes a review of symptoms, prior treatment, medication needs, and recovery concerns.

The key decision is whether pump therapy fits the patient’s injury plan and medical history. Our team explains the expected follow-up, incision care, and activity limits before the patient proceeds.

This page focuses on recovery after implantation, not general pain care. Patients in Conley can request an assessment through our Stockbridge or Buckhead locations.

  • Ask how medication changes will be reviewed after implantation.
  • Confirm which incision care instructions apply to your treatment plan.
  • Discuss activity restrictions before planning work, driving, or exercise.
  • Bring records about prior injections, imaging, and pain medicines.

How We Approach Pump Therapy Decisions

Medication plan review

Medication adjustments are reviewed against your symptoms, records, and treatment response. Pump therapy is the wrong fit when the clinical plan does not support an implanted delivery system.

Recovery instructions

Incision care and activity limits receive direct attention before you leave. We explain what your instructions mean for daily movement and follow-up.

Documented injury care

Board-certified pain management physicians support focused care for crash-related injuries and related medical documentation.

Questions Patients Ask About Pump Recovery

How are medication changes reviewed after implantation?

Medication changes are reviewed against your symptoms, healing, and treatment records. Our team asks what has changed since the last visit and checks whether the plan still fits your needs. Bring an updated medicine list and note new symptoms. That information supports a focused discussion without promising a specific result.

Which activity limits should I discuss before treatment?

Activity limits should cover work tasks, driving, exercise, and movements that affect the incision. The care team explains which activities need caution during your recovery plan. Ask how the instructions apply to your routine before leaving the visit. Your medical records also help us address work and claim documentation.

When should an incision concern be reported?

An incision concern should be reported when it changes or causes symptoms that worry you. Contact the medical office for guidance about findings such as increasing pain, drainage, or opening at the site. Do not change wound care on your own. Our team can review the concern and direct the next medical step.

Why are follow-up visits needed after pump implantation?

Follow-up visits check healing, symptoms, and whether the treatment plan still fits. Our team uses these visits to review medication concerns and recovery instructions. Bring questions about activity or the incision. Follow-up also keeps medical documentation current for appropriate personal injury claims or MedPay arrangements.

Does pain management accept attorney liens or MedPay arrangements?

Yes, Premier Injury Specialists accepts attorney liens and MedPay arrangements for appropriate injury care. These arrangements address how medical services may be handled after a motor vehicle collision. Discuss your claim details during the consultation. Our team can explain the records and documentation connected with your treatment.

What should I bring to a first pump therapy consultation?

Bring medical records, imaging reports, a current medicine list, and details about prior treatment. These materials help our team understand the injury and discuss whether pump therapy fits the care plan. You can also bring claim or MedPay information. A focused record review supports clear answers about recovery and follow-up.
